About

.✦ ܁˖ Background

My professional experience supporting adults and children with their mental health spans 13 years, and has included work in settings such as recovery houses, residential homes, helplines and charities. I have an academic background in Psychology and am currently completing a Masters in Psychotherapy, researching the intersections between artist, therapist and autistic identities. In addition to private therapeutic work, I’m employed with a grassroots charity offering holistic, creative support to care-experienced children and young people. I absolutely adore the work I do.

I was diagnosed as autistic in my mid-twenties. A lifelong interest in people, behaviour, meaning and connection started to make sense in a new light. The neurodiversity movement has shaped the way I see difference and disability - yes, neurological differences are very real, and yes, the environments we exist within can amplify the extent to which people are disabled or accommodated. I’m fortunate to be able to use my voice, training and education to support other people who are sifting through all the dominant messaging out there about ‘normality’, whether that’s around disability, whiteness, gender, or anything else that diverges from ‘typicality’, in search of their own sense of meaning.

Etherscapes was formed to integrate my love for psychotherapy with the importance creativity has held for me as an autistic person. This lived experience continues to inform my way of being as a psychotherapist and artist.
